Marinetraffic.com VERSUS Vesselfinder.com

Marine Traffic is heading the lead, Vessel Finder is quickly catching up.

Here are the two mostly used AIS tracking online maps for embedding and free use in the World. Development of Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder is presented on the graph below. Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder offer really useful maps with exact and updated information about all aspects of the tracked vessels (present position, supplementary info, photos, etc.). Both platforms are dynamic and generous in its approach to vessel tracking mariners and businesses. On Marine Traffic's map for embedding you may search for free whatever you like (ships, ports, etc.) on Vessel Finder's map there isn't search tool but you may change the map from general to satellite layout, as well adding terrain is an option. Difference in popularity and Alexa Rank is also affected by the later start of VesselFinder.com at 18/Oct/2008 in respect to MarineTraffic.com's launch at 4/Oct/2007. Vessel Finder's map shows vessel position with a date next to her name being out of range which denotes the last known position at that moment. Vessel Finder is a Bulgarian platform, Marine Traffic is a Greek platform.
